Own operation of Stuttgart baths

The city of Stuttgart operates a total of 16 swimming pools, which are an important service provider in the field of leisure, sports and health. The special feature: The state capital has one of the largest deposits of mineral water in Europe. Bathers in the thermal baths benefit from the power of the healing water.

For Stuttgart residents, it is a source of joy: The Berg mineral baths reopened in October 2020 after a general renovation.

Up to 44 million liters of mineral water bubble up from Stuttgart's underground every day. The city makes use of this potential: Bäderbetriebe Stuttgart makes the healing water available to the general public in three thermal baths. The springs feed swimming pools, therapy facilities and public drinking fountains. In addition, Bäderbetriebe Stuttgart maintains eight indoor pools and five outdoor pools distributed throughout the city.

At the end of 2008, the city council decided to reorganize Stuttgart's public baths into a joint municipal company. Detailed information on the executive bodies and business development can be found in the current  report on shareholdings.
