Diverse activities around the anniversary year

A highlight of the celebrations was the cuckoo festival from July 25 to 27 around the gymnasium and assembly hall and on the grounds of the Franz Schubert School.

In addition to the major festive events, the anniversary year offers a varied program: monthly health lectures, a medieval market from 14 to 19 July, the first White Table Botnang on Sunday, 29 June, a swimming competition on Sunday, 27 July were just some of the highlights. The cultural night on Saturday, November 8, which takes place at six different locations, is not to be missed.

The Botnang local bus is also celebrating its birthday: it has been connecting the district for 15 years, now as part of the VVS. On Sunday, May 25, this mobility service was the focus of an action day.

In addition to the celebrations, the aim is also to create something lasting. Botnang will receive a local history book for its 950th birthday. District manager Mina Smakaj is calling for support from the people of Botnang. We are looking for historical photos and contemporary documents.

If you are in possession of historical photos and documents, you can submit them either by e-mail to  bezirksamt.botnangstuttgartde or in person at the Botnang district office, room 302 or 303. For further information, please call 0711 216 60897.

There will also be a historical tour of Botnang with 25 stations. A memorial stone from 1941 will be renovated, and the district council and the Kultur 70195 association have commissioned a life-size bronze sculpture of a washerwoman for the Wäscherinnenbrunnen fountain on the market square. It is intended to commemorate Botnang's history as a "village of washerwomen and bleachers". One of the district's landmarks, the Church of the Resurrection, will also be illuminated with the numbers "950".
