Visitors to the Hohenheim Gardens can expect to see over 8,000 plant species, nestled in a 30-hectare park area that extends around Hohenheim Palace.
The botanical garden surrounds the castle, which today houses a university, like a crescent moon. Numerous magnificent plants thrive in it, such as a yellow-blossoming magnolia, sequoias, a gingko and a giant tree of life. Plaques tell interested visitors which species of tree they are dealing with.
The Exotic Garden, once the English Garden of Duke Carl Eugen and Franziska von Hohenheim, not only boasts an old stock of trees from the ducal period. There are also historic buildings such as the Playhouse and the Roman Inn.
The youngest garden in the group is the landscape garden. It captivates by its view possibilities, the surprising way guidance and naturally its plant variety which - in comparison to the other gardens - is quite young.
