There are good reasons why you should visit the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart: During the day, the hustle and bustle of the city on Schlossplatz is reflected in the museum's glass façade. After sunset, the glowing glass cube allows you to look inside at the illuminated limestone walls in the building's core. Above all, the museum offers an impressive collection of modern art and regularly changing special exhibitions.
The museum extends over 5,000 square meters of exhibition space on the small Schlossplatz. Only a fifth of it is visible from the outside; the rest is underground in a former tunnel. The art museum has become famous worldwide for its extensive collection of works by the artist Otto Dix. The works exhibited here, "Triptych Big City" and "Portrait of the Dancer Anita Berber," are among the most important works of art of the 20th century.
The curators attach great importance to art education. On discovery tours, children get to know artists and works, while young people can become active themselves in the creative workshop. Visitors to the art museum not only experience an impressive collection. They also get a fantastic view of the Schlossplatz from the fourth floor - until now, the view has been a real insider tip.
