Women and profession

Many women experience disadvantage in their professional lives. The state capital Stuttgart supports professional equality for women as an employer and mediator as well as within the framework of cooperation and advisory services.

Reconciling family and career is a challenge for many women - also in financial terms. Points of contact, support measures and networks sponsored by the city of Stuttgart help women with issues relating to family, work and career.

Career and financial security for women

Gender-specific inequality of opportunity still exists in the world of work, for example in the areas of work-life balance, flexible working time models and promotion opportunities. Together with the city administration, social institutions, employers and employees, the  Equal Opportunities Department develops recommendations for action so that work and private life can be better reconciled.

It also draws attention to the everyday problems of single parents, employees without vocational training or women in precarious employment, develops solutions in networks and provides advice. Further information can also be found under  Women,  Fields of action and Families.
