Profession and orientation

The  Vocational Information Center of (opens in a new tab)the Federal Employment Agency (BIZ) is a contact point for those who are determined and those who are undecided. Questions about jobs, careers, training or studies are comprehensively explained here. Personal counseling also offers the opportunity to create individual concepts. Equipped with new knowledge, the transition into working life is often easier.

The  JobConnections (opens in a new tab)counseling and placement office is commissioned by the state capital of Stuttgart and supports young Stuttgart residents in all matters relating to school, training and work. For example, the employees help with the preparation of application documents and preparation for the job interview. Nothing can (really) go wrong.

The state capital Stuttgart offers  internships in various areas of the city administration. These can take place as part of career orientation days, trial internships and mandatory internships during studies. Volunteer positions are also offered.

Stuttgart is diversity - good to know that this motto also applies to career entry opportunities in the city administration. As one of the largest employers in the region, the state capital of Stuttgart provides training in over forty professions. Among other things, there are apprenticeships in administration, in workshops as well as daycare centers and even on the vineyard. More information is available under  Training.

If you want to show targeted civic commitment, you can do this with the  Federal Volunteer Service (opens in a new tab). In the state capital of Stuttgart, this is possible at the Youth Welfare Office, the Office for Environmental Protection or the Office for Social Affairs and Participation in the Generation House. The Voluntary Social Year (FSJ) is a voluntary service for teenagers and young adults up to the age of 26. On the one hand, the FSJ offers valuable experience and insights in the field of charitable work, and on the other hand, it often leads to the next steps on the career path. Sponsors include deaconries, churches and other welfare organizations. The state capital Stuttgart also offers the opportunity for a  voluntary social year in culture, administration and politics.

In contrast to the Voluntary Social Year, participants in the Voluntary Ecological Year (Freiwilliges Ökologisches Jahr, FÖJ) are involved in nature conservation and environmental protection. The FÖJ has around 80 different volunteer positions in various fields, including agriculture, horticulture, environmental education, nature conservation centers, and positions at public institutions and companies.
