Mobility is the basis for people to be able to participate. Anyone who is permanently dependent on a wheelchair is significantly restricted in their choice of means of transport.

The cab industry makes an important contribution to ensuring that everyone can be mobile at any time and on any day. Specially modified vehicles make it possible to transport people who are unable to leave their wheelchairs during the journey. In Stuttgart there are some cab companies that offer a Rolli-Taxi.

Who can use the Rolli-Taxi?

The offer is open to everyone who needs a cab in Stuttgart. The Rolli-Taxi is part of the cab fleet. If necessary, it can be converted so that people in a wheelchair can ride in a seated position. This is especially true for e-wheelchairs.

For which trips can the Rolli-Taxi be used?

The Rolli-Taxi can be used for all trips. For example, for a concert visit, a business appointment, to the airport, to the doctor or shopping.

What does the Rolli-Taxi cost?

The regular cab fare applies. This is laid down in the cab tariff regulations for Stuttgart.

Stuttgart residents who are entitled to ride vouchers for severely disabled people can use the ride vouchers.

The Taxi-Auto-Zentrale also has an app for smartphones.

What area is covered by the Stuttgart wheelchair cab service?

The offer applies to the Stuttgart city area and neighboring counties. Trips to the surrounding area can be requested from the cab car center.

How does the state capital Stuttgart promote the wheelchair cab?

The state capital Stuttgart has developed a support program. The goal is to enable people in wheelchairs to be more flexibly mobile and to have more Rolli-Taxis in the city. Every cab company based in Stuttgart can receive funding for the conversion of a vehicle.

The state capital Stuttgart grants travel vouchers for trips with cabs or barrier-free special vehicles as a voluntary benefit for residents with severe walking disabilities.

Eligibility requirements:

• You are in possession of a severely disabled person's identity card with the symbol "aG".
• You do not have a car at your disposal which you can drive yourself or which can be driven by another person.
• you are a resident of the state capital Stuttgart
• Your income is below a certain income limit

The driving vouchers are intended to enable you to participate in social life (for example, to visit relatives and friends, to take part in the cultural life of our city or to run errands).

They are expressly not intended for trips to the doctor, dentist and hospital or for other medically prescribed measures, such as therapeutic gymnastics, massages and baths.

The vouchers may only be used for journeys in the urban area of the state capital Stuttgart and the surrounding districts of Böblingen, Esslingen, Rems-Murr and Ludwigsburg.

The Duty Call System (DRS) is a mobile, wireless radio call system. With a DRS transmitter, disabled motorists can approach any "DRS service station". The transmitter is used to radio the receiving device and the gas station team confirms the received signal with feedback for the handicapped motorist. The latter can now approach the gas pump and wait in peace until he is served.

The system is available at highway service stations and at several service stations in Stuttgart.
