State capital Stuttgart

Electromobility

With the e-scooter through the city

Ecological, flexible and affordable: Stadtwerke Stuttgart offers e-scooter sharing for the state capital under the name "stella-sharing". The red scooters run emission-free on 100 percent green electricity, are virtually silent and can be rented at any time of day.

That's how you get that vacation feeling: La dolce vita on the e-scooter in Stuttgart.

A large number of e-scooters are available in the Stuttgart city area. The former blue scooters in retro design have been replaced by new, red models. The  rental area (opens in a new tab) includes the inner city districts, Feuerbach, Zuffenhausen, parts of Bad Cannstatt and Wangen.

Range and speed

Each stella e-scooter is equipped with two helmets and hygiene hoods to enable spontaneous rides. The offer can be used from the age of 18 with a regular motorcycle or car driver's license.

The e-scooters have a two-kilowatt motor and travel at a maximum speed of 45 kilometers per hour. The range on one battery charge is 100 kilometers. Stadtwerke Stuttgart takes care of charging the batteries and maintaining the vehicles.

Travel expenses

A ride on a stella e-scooter costs 0.99 cents per activation and 33 cents per minute; the daily flat rate is 35 euros. There are also minute packages with volume discounts. Registration is free of charge. There is no monthly basic fee. Directly after each stella journey, the user receives a journey overview by e-mail. Further information on the prices of the e-scooters can be found at  stella-sharing (opens in a new tab).

Parking

At the end of the rental period, the scooter can best be parked in a designated motorcycle or scooter parking lot or a public parking lot in the stella-sharing rental area. Since 2025, stella scooters can be parked on the street free of charge. This does not apply in parking garages or paid parking lots. The regulation initially applies until the end of 2026.

The German Road Traffic Regulations (StVO) also continue to apply to parking. For stella e-mopeds, there is an absolute ban on driving and parking on all footpaths, cycle paths and sidewalks. Please ensure that you always park your scooter in such a way that no other people are hindered or endangered by the vehicle.
