Since January 1, 2019, a year-round traffic ban has been in force in the Stuttgart low emission zone - i.e. in the entire city area - for all vehicles with diesel engines of the Euro 4/IV emission standard and worse. Since July 1, 2020, a year-round traffic ban has also been in force in the so-called small environmental zone (area of the valley basin; districts of Bad Cannstatt, Feuerbach, Zuffenhausen) for diesel vehicles of the Euro 5/V emission standard and worse. This has been decided by the state of Baden-Württemberg and included as a measure in the 3rd and 5th updates of the clean air plan for Stuttgart.
Note: All information about the diesel traffic ban can be found here: stuttgart.de/diesel-verkehrsverbot (opens in a new tab)
