The provision of so-called "Rolli-Taxis" is intended to significantly improve the mobility and flexibility of people with walking disabilities who are dependent on their wheelchair and cannot leave it when driving. The city of Stuttgart is therefore promoting the conversion of cabs into so-called "Rolli-Taxis". After the conversion, the cabs can easily carry an occupied wheelchair.
What is subsidized?
Funding is being provided for the conversion of up to twelve cabs into so-called "wheelchair cabs". The previous restriction to vehicles that can carry wheelchair users plus four passengers has been lifted. This means that smaller vehicles can now also be subsidized. A prerequisite for funding is compliance with the conditions set out in Section 4 of the funding guidelines.
Note: Vehicles with diesel engines below the EURO 6 emissions standard are not eligible for funding.
How is funding provided?
The conversion is subsidized at 95 percent of the net conversion costs, up to a maximum of 10,000 euros per vehicle. Cab operators must contribute five percent of the eligible costs. Each vehicle is eligible for funding only once. There is no entitlement to funding, especially if the budget allocated is exhausted.
