If you want to serve alcoholic beverages for a temporary period (a few days/weeks) for a special occasion, you need a permit in accordance with § 12 of the German Restaurant Act (GastG).
In particular for participation in public events (such as folk and district festivals or Christmas markets) as well as for the holding of other public events (such as club festivals, concerts or readings), the restaurant authority can temporarily permit the serving of alcoholic beverages under simplified conditions.
No permission is required if only food and/or non-alcoholic beverages are served for consumption on site as part of temporary public events.
