Christmas tree of children's wishes has started

Fulfilling heartfelt wishes and giving hope: numerous cards are once again waiting to be picked from the Christmas tree of children's wishes. More than 3,400 wish cards are hanging on the digital Christmas tree and on the real tree in the town hall foyer to bring a smile to the faces of disadvantaged children.

Every year since 2008, the Children's Office of the City of Stuttgart has organized the Christmas Tree of Children's Wishes to bring joy to disadvantaged children and young people.

Anyone who wants to bring joy to disadvantaged children at Christmas and give them a bit of hope has the opportunity to do so again this year: Numerous wishes from children and young people are once again waiting to be picked from the Children's Wishes Christmas Tree. The digital Christmas tree of children's wishes has been online since November 19.

Real Christmas tree in the town hall

Of course, the foyer on the first floor of Stuttgart City Hall is once again decorated with a real Christmas tree filled with children's wishes. The wish cards have been hanging there since Thursday, November 27. The Christmas tree of children's wishes is under the patronage of Lord Mayor Dr. Frank Nopper.  Mayor Nopper plucked the first card from the tree in the town hall on November 26, thus launching the campaign.

Submit gifts by December 11

If you want to make a child happy, simply pick one of the wish cards from the digital or real tree and get the gift worth up to 30 euros. The gift can be wrapped and delivered to the  children's office at Eberhardstraße 6 (entrance next to the registry office, room 302 on the 3rd floor) from Friday, November 28 to Thursday, December 11. The gift collection point is open Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 6 pm.

Eberhardstraße is a bicycle street. Delivery traffic is possible until 11 am. The best way to reach the children's office by public transport is from the Rathaus stop. Parking is available in the Rathausgarage parking garage in Eichstraße or in the Schwabenzentrum parking garage at Hauptstätter Straße 40.

Bringing joy to children's faces

Every year since 2008, the Children's Office of the City of Stuttgart has organized the Christmas tree of children's wishes for disadvantaged children and young people. In this way, children in difficult social, health and/or financial situations can also have their wishes fulfilled at Christmas. The children's wishes range from toys, books and clothes to vouchers. This is because many children whose wishes hang on the real or digital tree have to do without many things that other children take for granted. The Christmas tree of children's wishes offers the opportunity to put a smile on the faces of these children with a special gift at Christmas time.

For children and young people in difficult situations

Around 65 facilities from various organizations with a particularly high proportion of children with a Bonus Card are involved in the Christmas tree of children's wishes. These include facilities for single mothers, families in "educational support", refugee shelters, pregnancy advice centers or facilities for sick children, such as the outpatient hospice service for children and young people, Hospiz Stuttgart.

Employees of these institutions have asked for the individual Christmas wishes of the children and young people in advance and reported them to the Children's Office. Unfortunately, wishes from private individuals cannot be considered for the Christmas tree of children's wishes.

This year, the Stuttgart Children's Foundation, the Mosaiq agency, the Christoph Sonntag Foundation, the Baden-Württemberg State Association of Showmen and Market Merchants, the Stuttgart City Initiative, the fashion and lifestyle company Breuninger, the Ferris wheel company Oscar Bruch jr. and Märkte Stuttgart GmbH have assumed the deficiency guarantee to ensure that all wishes can be fulfilled in the end. For the first time, the company Müller - Die Lila Logistik is supporting the campaign by distributing the gifts to the institutions.
