Strike-related restrictions on services for the citizens of Stuttgart:
- Collection of municipal waste and recycling containers
- Collection of bulky waste
- Recyclables and hazardous waste mobile
- Recycling centers
- Landfill site
- Street cleaning
- Winter service
- Public toilet facilities
- Customer service
After the strike
The AWS will resume its service as usual and gradually collect the additional waste. In the meantime, Stuttgart residents can put their waste in tear-proof bags and waste paper in cardboard boxes next to their bins on collection day. Please note:
- As far as possible, the AWS will take any additional quantities caused by the strike free of charge, as far as available resources allow. Depending on the volume, this may take several collection days.
- The AWS employees require free access to the waste containers and the additional quantities provided.
- Please store cardboard boxes and paper sacks in a dry place and only put them out on the day of collection. Wet cartons and cartons filled with paper may be too heavy or soggy and therefore unsuitable for handling.
- For health and safety reasons, AWS employees are not permitted to load the sacks and cardboard boxes loose into the collection vehicle. The paper sacks and cardboard boxes must therefore be designed to fit into the waste paper containers.
- Citizens can hand in larger quantities of waste paper and large cardboard boxes at Stuttgart’s recycling centers.
Unfortunately, customer service is unable to respond to individual customer inquiries relating to the strike. The company will publish up-to-date information about the strike at AWS online on this page and via the Stuttgart AWS app.
