Housing benefit plus

The laws on housing money have changed.
Since 2023, many more people now have
the possibility to get housing money.
And since 2023, there is more housing money.

With Wohn-Geld Plus you also get
a lump sum for the heating costs.
This means:
You get a fixed amount of money for your heating costs.
However, the amount may not be as high
as your actual heating costs.

In 2022, heating costs have increased.
Is that also taken into account?
In the months September 2022 to December 2022, have you received
received at least one month of housing allowance?
Then you will receive a one-time subsidy for the heating costs.

Do I have to do anything for the Wohn-Geld Plus?

You already get Wohn-Geld
and the approval runs until 2023?
Then you will automatically receive Wohn-Geld Plus from January 2023.
You do not have to do anything.
You will receive a new decision.
The decision will state how much money you will now receive as housing benefit.
Then you will receive the higher amount as an additional payment.

You want to apply for housing money.
But you do not know:
Can I get housing benefit at all?
And how much housing benefit can I get?
These points are important:

• How many people live in your household?
• What is the income of all persons in your household?
• How much is the rent?

These points decide:
Do you get housing money?
And how much housing money do you get?

The income of all persons in the household must not be higher than a certain value.
And the rent must not be higher than a certain value.

You are not yet receiving Wohn-Geld?
Then you can apply for the Wohn-Geld Plus
since January 1, 2023.
You can get the Wohn-Geld at the earliest from the month,
in which you submit the application.

For the application you need to submit several documents and proofs.

You can also apply for housing allowance via the Internet.
To do this, you enter your data in the service portal
of the state of Baden-Württemberg.

The service account is free of charge.
With the service account Baden-Württemberg you can
make the application via the Internet.

You can also send us a letter first.
You then have to write down your surname and first name.
And your date of birth and address.
You can then submit the documents later.
But we recommend that you:
Always send us the correct application form straight away.
Even if you are not yet able to send all the documents.

What do I have to pay attention to?
On some pages of the application you need to sign.
You must write the signature yourself.
Then you can scan the pages and send them as an e-mail.

Often it is like this:
An e-mail may only have a certain size.
Often the email must not be larger than 10 mega bytes.
That's why photos and scanned pages must not be too big.
Are your attachments like a photo of the application too big?
Then you must send us the attachments in several e-mails.

As a result of the new laws, many more
