The numerous fountains and water features in Stuttgart have their origins in different eras. Some, especially the installations in the palace garden, were built in 1961 on the occasion of the Federal Garden Show. Others, such as the Galatea Fountain or the Academy Fountain, date back to the 19th century. The oldest fountain in the city center is the Schlenklinsbrunnen in Heslach, which was listed in the interest book of the Esslingen hospital as early as 1343. Stuttgart's fountains are a real cultural asset and often a sight to behold.
