In the city area of Stuttgart, the following vehicles may be parked free of charge in public street spaces until 31.12.2022 in all parking spaces subject to charges (without time restrictions) and in residents' parking areas:
- purely electrically powered vehicles (battery electric vehicles)
- externally chargeable hybrid electric vehicles (plug-in hybrids)
- fuel cell vehicles
On 15.12.2022, the Stuttgart City Council decided to no longer extend the parking fee exemption for e-vehicles that has been in effect to date. This means that as of 01.01.2023, fees must also be paid for these vehicles at the parking ticket machines.
Residents of parking management areas or commercial businesses and freelancers located there, as well as residents of city areas, can obtain a parking permit for free parking under certain conditions. The same applies to tradespeople and social services. Detailed information is available at the following link: Parking Management (opens in a new tab)
