The tasks of the Neckar/Filder department are initially identical to the basic tasks described for the  Land Traffic department. In addition, in the event of contradictory statements from specialist departments and other parties involved in the intended measures, coordination is carried out until the binding legal form is established.

This department is responsible for the districts of Bad Cannstatt, Birkach, Degerloch, Hedelfingen, Möhringen, Mühlhausen, Münster, Obertürkheim, Plieningen, Sillenbuch, Untertürkheim, Vaihingen, Wangen and the districts belonging to them, as well as for the neighboring districts outside the city.
