The Möhringen Museum of Local History was opened in 1936 on the main floor of the Spitalhof of the Katharinenhospital in Esslingen, built in 1469. Badly damaged in 1944, the building was demolished in 1959. In 1962, the museum reopened in a new building with the old facade. In addition to prehistoric and early historical finds, the museum mainly houses testimonies to local history: views of Möhringen, documents on the history of the association, a fire engine from around 1850 and memorabilia of Kammersänger August Kies (1874 - 1935). In addition, furnishings, household goods, tools (flax processing), textiles and evidence of life (godfather letters) from Möhringen's rural past are on display.
