The Office of Public Order will be closed to the general public on December 24, 2025 and from December 31, 2025 to January 6, 2026 with all offices, including all citizens' offices in the city districts as well as the vehicle registration and driving license office. The Refugee Department of the Foreigners' Registration Office has been located at Jägerstraße 14-18, 70174 Stuttgart since December 2016. Its responsibilities include issuing residence permits and tolerated stay permits. In addition, the Refugee Department is also responsible for issuing humanitarian residence permits and travel documents to persons entitled to asylum and recognized refugees. Persons who have currently been granted protection status by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees are therefore requested to contact the Refugee Department. Applications for permission to employ persons who are currently in possession of a residence permit or tolerated stay are also processed in the Refugee Department.
