Bastion Leibfried

It can be easily recognized from afar: the green hill with the viewing platform crowned by trees. But even though the Bastion Leibfried is hard to miss, it is still considered an insider tip.

Bastion Leibfried

The Leibfried Bastion is embedded in the Green U, an elongated green space eight kilometers long that connects Stuttgart's city center with the Höhenpark Killesberg. The lookout point was built as part of the Leibfried Garden during the International Horticultural Exhibition in 1993.

Even while walking up the hill, visitors are offered many different views of Stuttgart. Once on the viewing platform, you can marvel at the panoramic view. Among other things, the Burgholzhof vineyard, the high bunker at Pragsattel and Stuttgart's city center in the distance can be seen. In good weather, the view extends as far as the foothills of the Swabian Alb.
