Karlshöhe

Those who climb the 344-meter-high Karlshöhe are rewarded with one of the most beautiful views over the south of Stuttgart. But the enchanted park is also worth a visit. Originally, the Karlshöhe was a quarry.

The Karlshöhe in Stuttgart South offers a beautiful panoramic view of the valley basin.

The ascent is a tough one, but there are already wonderful views to be had here. The most beautiful one is certainly from the viewing platform above the beer garden. Most visitors are certainly attracted by the view and the beer garden.

But it is also worth visiting the rest of the park. Romantic paths lead through English-style gardens. Here and there you will find silent witnesses of time, for example the enchanted Pallas Athena Fountain.

If you still have time and energy after visiting Karlshöhe, you can visit another hidden gem at its foot: the Stuttgart Municipal Lapidarium in the park of the former Villa Ostertag-Siegle at Mörikestraße 24.

By the way, Karlshöhe was originally a quarry. The stones quarried here were used in the Old Palace and Ulm Cathedral, among other places.
