The StadtPalais opened in 2018 as a museum for Stuttgart in the former Wilhelmspalais. In addition to the permanent exhibitions on the history of the city, special exhibitions and various events attract visitors.

Stuttgart Museum Worlds

Stuttgart's museums and museum-like institutions are an important part of cultural life in the state capital. They address a broad public with varied programs, exhibitions and events. Everyone is welcome: visitors from out of town, citizens, young and old, big and small.

Support programs of the museums and the cultural administration ensure that financially weaker people also have the opportunity to visit museums. Because only shared culture is lived culture. This is a guiding principle that is widely applied in municipal  cultural funding. And  cultural education in museums is also supported by the city of Stuttgart.

Inspiration desired?

On a Sunday afternoon, on vacation, during a city trip, after work or simply taking a day off for culture - there is always time and opportunity for a museum visit in Stuttgart. The question is rather: Which exhibition should it be?

Among the most popular museums in Stuttgart are the Mercedes-Benz Museum, the Porsche Museum, the State Museums of Natural History, the Stuttgart State Gallery, the Art Museum and the Württemberg State Museum. These museums, as well as other highlights of Stuttgart's museum landscape, are presented here.

If this is not enough inspiration for you, you can find an overview of museums in Stuttgart via the  culture finder. Current exhibitions are displayed in the  calendar of events of the city of Stuttgart.
