Cultural places of encounter and participation
The Carl Zeiss Planetarium uses state-of-the-art technology not only to tell stories about the stars, but also to make them dance. Stuttgart’s countless stories are told at the StadtPalais - Museum für Stuttgart, where local history is brought to life for everyone.
The city archive in Bad Cannstatt is the city’s active memory. And the city library in the middle of the new Europaviertel district, together with the central children’s library, the music library, the Graphothek and its 18 district libraries, is one of the largest and most modern integrated education and learning centers in Germany.
The Stuttgart Music School trains and educates the next generation of musicians from an early age. The Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra is the orchestra of the state capital and, under its General Music Director Dan Ettinger, is a central component and cultural ambassador of the music metropolis of Stuttgart. And the art museum presents the highlights of the city’s art collection alongside special exhibitions.
