Knowledge Location Stuttgart in English Version

The state capital Stuttgart has a diverse education and research landscape. Following the brochure “Stuttgart as a Center of Knowledge”, which presents the most important universities and research institutions, the English-language version “Stuttgart: Centre of Knowledge” has now also been published.

Knowledge Location Stuttgart in English Version

It is aimed at scientists and researchers, teachers, doctoral students and, of course, students who are interested in a first-class European science and research center such as Stuttgart. Those who want to obtain initial information about Stuttgart as a knowledge location and what it has to offer will find basic facts and figures in this booklet. A total of 33 institutions - universities, academies, institutes and research centers - present themselves on 72 pages with their history and orientation, their business areas, focal points and research programs as well as the courses of study and degrees themselves.

For those who would like to know how Stuttgart has developed into a center of aerospace research, why the city is an innovative place also for scientific start-ups and why cooperations will also secure the location in the future, prominent “Stuttgarters” such as the former space astronaut Prof. Dr. Ernst Messerschmid, the shareholder of the internationally active company Trumpf, Prof. Dr. Berthold Leibinger, or the Nobel Prize winner for physics, Prof. Dr. Klaus von Klitzing, will provide information. A special feature of the university city is also the close and effective networking of education, research and production that has existed for many decades in one of the most powerful economic regions in Europe.

The brochure, which was compiled by the city’s Communications Department in cooperation with the Science and Higher Education Department, is available free of charge from Susann Neupert, e-mail susann.neupertstuttgartde, as well as for downloading from the Internet at www.stuttgart.de/studenten-wissenschaftler.

There you will find further information on education and science - access also as QR code on the back of the brochure. The homepages and contact addresses of the individual institutions provide further facts and figures for those interested, if required.
