Traffic regulation for the Stuttgart run

The Stuttgart Run on Saturday, June 28, and Sunday, June 29, will cause some disruptions to road traffic in the vicinity of the run course.

The competitions for children and young people (Jolinchen-Lauf, Minimarathon over one and two kilometers, Handbike-Minimarathon and Kids-Inline) will be held on Saturday from 2 pm in the area of the NeckarPark sports facilities. For this purpose, the Benzstraße between the Mercedesstraße and the junction B14 will be closed on this day in the time from 12:30 to 18:00 as well as the Martin-Schrenk-Weg between the Benzstraße and the traffic circle Mercedesstraße in the time from 12:30 to 18:30.

From Friday, June 27, at 8 p.m. until Sunday, June 29, at midnight, Mercedesstrasse will be fully closed between Talstrasse and the Mercedes-Benz Museum. The stub runs of bus line 56 to the Mercedes-Benz World will be cancelled during this time.

Combi card for public transport

On Sunday, the main races (handbike/inline/half marathon, seven-kilometer run and walking) will take place. The half marathon course between Bad Cannstatt and the Max Eyth Lake is identical to the 2013 course, with the start again in Benzstraße. For this reason, Benzstraße between Mercedesstraße and the B14 junction will be closed to vehicle traffic as early as 5 a.m. on Sunday, June 29, and the rest of the running course will be closed to vehicle traffic from around 6:30 a.m. onwards.

At the following crossing points, the route can be crossed by residents until the arrival of the field of runners and partly also during the race: Freiberg-/Neckartalstraße and Elwert-/Decker-/Daimlerstraße (traffic circle).

It is recommended that participants use public transport to get to the event. A combination ticket will be offered for this purpose. Parking is available at the NeckarPark on the Cannstatter Wasen. Due to the numerous closures, participants are urgently requested to follow the NeckarPark guidance system when approaching the parking areas in the NeckarPark. Appropriate notices will also be issued via the radio stations’ traffic broadcasting.

Individual light rail and bus lines affected

The Bad Cannstatt district can only be reached via detours. Detour for individual traffic will be signposted via Steinhaldenfeld/Fellbach, Mönchfeld/Freiberg/Münster and the B10.

For the arrival and departure of the athletes, the U11 light rail line will run on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Sunday from 7 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. between the Hauptbahnhof (main station) and Neckarpark (stadium) stops.

The event will also affect the operation of public transport, in particular the U2, U13 and U14 light rail lines and bus lines 52, 54 and 56. Stuttgarter Straßenbahnen AG will provide appropriate information on the Internet, make passenger announcements at affected stops on the day of the event and, in some cases, deploy mobile passenger attendants at the stops.

All passengers as well as the residents and adjoining owners of the closed route sections are asked for understanding for the impairments. Residents who wish to drive off in their vehicles during the event are advised to park their vehicles outside the closed section in good time before the event. Those who know the area are advised to drive around the Stuttgart city area and to pay attention to the special traffic announcements.
