She represented her parliamentary group on the Environment and Technology Committee, the Economy and Housing Committee and the Health Committee, among others.
Doris Peppler-Kelka was born near Wroclaw in 1944 and grew up on the North Sea coast. Her path led her via Hamburg, The Hague, Ingolstadt and Heidelberg to Filder in 1980. In addition to running a “small family business” with her husband, daughter, son and cat, the trained potter worked at the Filderstadt Free Art School and as a freelancer.
In local politics, she has been involved in the district executive of the Stuttgart Green Party and the Birkach/Plieningen district advisory council. Her very special voluntary commitment was and is dedicated to orchards. At the end of the 1980s, she founded a project group for this purpose, today’s “Förderkreis Stuttgarter Apfelsaft - Ökologischer Streuobstbau in Stuttgart e.V.”, of which she is the chairwoman. She is passionate about preserving Stuttgart’s cultural landscape and farms.
Last year, Doris Peppler-Kelka was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit for her services to nature conservation and refugee aid.
