New rates, new app, new driving experience

Regiorad Stuttgart starts from 12 July with new momentum into the summer

Whether out in the fresh air to work, university, school or on the road with friends and family through the region - the environmentally conscious bike and pedelec rental system Regiorad Stuttgart will be even more flexible and in many cases cheaper in the future.

From Tuesday, July 12, the three basic rates and the night rate will be simpler. The app has also been completely revamped and the website refreshed.

“The redesign of the rates and a modernized app with easy handling and new functions will make using the more than 1,700 bikes, pedelecs and cargo pedelecs even more attractive,” says Cornelius Kiermasch, Head of Shared Mobility at Deutsche Bahn Connect GmbH, operator of the public rental system. “In the future, there will be favorable per-minute rates for all bikes in all tariffs.” These will apply in the Polygocard fare for public transport customers and frequent riders, as well as in the Basic fare for regular users or in the Light fare for day-trippers and occasional riders.

The free minutes for bicycles and pedelecs in the Polygocard fare remain, as do the daily prices in all three fares. Anyone who rents a bicycle cycles for free for the first half hour in the Polygocard tariff and then pays four cents per minute and a maximum of seven euros per day. With the pedelec, the first 15 minutes are free, after which there is a charge of six cents per minute and a maximum of ten euros per day. The ride with the cargo pedelec costs eight cents per minute and a maximum of twelve euros per day. All prices and rates are available now at  www.regioradstuttgart.de/tarifupdate (opens in a new tab).

All around renewed app

“For night owls and commuters, too, the simplified night tariff makes borrowing even more attractive. Between 6 p.m. and 9 a.m. the following day, the respective price per minute of the selected tariff applies, but a maximum of 1.50 to 2 euros is charged, depending on the tariff,” adds Ralf Maier-Geißer, overall coordinator of Regiorad Stuttgart. “Commuters can thus conveniently take their Regiorad bikes home overnight and use them to cycle back to the S-Bahn, work, university or school the next morning.”

The all-around revamped app offers an even better customer experience. The registration and borrowing process has been simplified, including the ability to borrow via QR code scan, real-time charge status display for pedelecs and cargo pedelecs, and a free cancellation option for reserved bikes. The refreshed website clearly presents practical information - now also in English.
