Municipal Council

Honorary order of the municipal council

The City Council of the State Capital Stuttgart has adopted a code of honor. In it, the council members acknowledge their responsibility to exercise their mandate selflessly and for the good of the city. At the same time, the code of honor is intended to provide orientation and legal certainty.

The honor code is a voluntary commitment by the members of the municipal council to create more transparency. It is intended to protect the city councilors from unjustified prosecution and to give them more security in problematic situations.

Pursuant to No. 13 b) of the honorary code, the members of the municipal council voluntarily provide the Lord Mayor with information in tabular form each year for the purpose of publication on the Internet on their professions exercised or learned, their memberships in supervisory bodies, in bodies of independent areas of responsibility of the city and in other companies under private law, and their functions in associations or comparable bodies.
