Forms of care in daycare centers

Extended opening hours for toddlers 0 to under 3 years old
6 hours of care, usually without lunch (with exceptions).
Care hours usually from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. or from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
In individual cases, care is offered until 2:30 pm. Some facilities do not accept children in this type of care until they are 1 or 2 years old.

Infant care 0 to under 3 years
Full-day care, 8 to a maximum of 10 hours, with lunch.
Care hours from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., depending on the facility.
Some facilities offer evening opening hours until 7 p.m.

6 hours of care, usually without lunch (with exceptions).
Care hours usually from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. or from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Some facilities offer care until 2:30 or 3 pm. There are also facilities that offer a choice of 6 or 7 hours of care.

Full-day care, 3 years to school age
Full-day care, 8 to 10 hours, with lunch.
Care hours range from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., depending on the facility.
Some facilities offer evening opening hours until 7 p.m. or have shorter care hours on Fridays.

Continuous opening hours 3 years to school entry
6 hours of continuous care can be selected within 9-hour opening hours, usually with lunch.
Care hours from 7:30 a.m. to max. 4:30 p.m.

Half-day kindergarten 3 years to school age
4 or 5 hours of care, sometimes with lunch.
Care hours from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
This care offer is only available at one facility in the city area.

Regular kindergarten 3 years until school entry
6 hours of care with a 2-hour lunch break, without lunch.
Care hours from 8 a.m. to noon and from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. with shorter care on Fridays.
This offer is now only available at one facility in the city area.

 Pupil houses at elementary school and all-day elementary school are not listed.

After-school care 6 to 14 years
All-day care before the start and after the end of school, with lunch.
Depending on the daycare facility, care hours are approximately 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please contact the facility management directly for information on care times during school vacations.

School child care 6 to 14 years

Full-day care or part-time care as well as care within the framework of the reliable elementary school, with lunch. The care usually takes place directly at the school and is aimed at students in grades 1 to 4.
Depending on the facility, the hours of care are approximately 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. For information on care times during school vacations, please contact the facility management directly.

Continuous opening hours for school children 6 to 14 years old
6 hours of continuous care within 9-hour opening hours can be selected, usually without lunch (lunch can be selected in some facilities).
Care hours from 7:30 a.m. to max. 4:30 p.m.

School day home 10 to 14 years
Full-day care before school starts and after school ends, with lunch. Pupils' day homes are usually integrated into the school.
Care hours 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please contact the facility management directly for information on care times during school vacations.
This care offer is only available at 3 facilities in the entire city area.
