Daycare portal

The Kita-Portal supports parents in their search for a suitable childcare place for their child and replaces the previous place requirement notifications to the daycare facilities in Stuttgart. This simplifies the process for families and at the same time reduces the processing workload for the facilities.

In the municipal Kita-Portal you will find all the information and offers relating to childcare for children aged between 0 and 14. With your personalized parent account, you can submit and manage childcare place requests via the Kitafinder. (symbolic image)

Registering on the Kita portal takes very little time: After accessing the Kitafinder and opening a personal parent account, families can enter their child's details. They then select their preferred facilities in the Kitafinder. Finally, childcare place requests can be sent directly via the system and the required documents can be uploaded. The Kita-Portal of the City of Stuttgart combines the Kitafinder and the parent account.

The Kitafinder helps you to find childcare for your child. With just a few clicks, you can obtain information on daycare facilities and other childcare options in your area.

You can manage all requests from the Kitafinder for a childcare place via the parent account. Communication with the selected facilities and the exchange of documents also takes place via your account.

Request a childcare place: how it works

The picture gallery explains how you can use the Kitafinder to create a parent account in just a few steps and then request a childcare place for your child.

To open a parent account, go to www.stuttgart.de/kitafinder and click on the "Register parent account" field at the top right. If you do not have a parent account, click on "Register now" when you log in.

Please enter your personal data in the fields below. Choose a user name and password. Enter the security code. Agree to the terms of use and privacy policy. You will then receive an e-mail to confirm your account. Registration is only complete after confirmation.

Now log in on the start page of the parent account with your user name and password. Click on "Log in". Please allow access to your user account by clicking on the green "Allow" button.

You are now in the Kitafinder. Create your profile by clicking on your name in the top right-hand corner. To do this, click on your name. Select "My data" from the drop-down menu.

Enter your data and click on "Save" at the bottom right. You will receive confirmation that your profile has been successfully updated. Your parent account is now active.

Now enter your child's details. To do this, click on the yellow "Create new child and search specifically" field at the top left. Enter all the required information about the child and the legal guardian. Agree to the data protection agreement and click on "Save".

To add more children, click on "Create new child" at the bottom right. To search for daycare facilities for a child you have created, click on the "Add new childcare place request" button. Set filters to find suitable facilities. The results will be displayed.

Use the "Add daycare place" button to select the daycare facilities you would like to save. You can select up to ten facilities: a maximum of three municipal and a maximum of seven independent providers.

When you have finished selecting the daycare centers, you will see the list of your selected facilities under "My selection" at the top left. Use the gray area on the right to return to the search.

Scroll down under "My selection" (top left). Confirm your selection with the check mark in the gray box. Click on "Send childcare place request" (bottom right). You will receive confirmation that the requests have been sent successfully.

Please save the summary of your childcare place request in PDF format. Do not forget to upload the declarations required for the allocation of places in the parent account. The link in the summary will take you to an overview of all the required documents. Click on the link to retrieve the documents.

Scroll down to "Downloads and further information". Download the appropriate declarations and save them. Once you have completed and signed all the declarations, you can upload them to your parent account.

Go back to the registration page (www.stuttgart.de/kitafinder) and register. The Kitafinder opens. Select "My children" in the top right-hand drop-down menu of your parent account. There you will see your child's details and the childcare place requests. Click on your child's data record to upload the documents.

Click on the second tab "Documents Kitaservice". Add your completed documents by clicking on "Add document". You will receive a confirmation after each successful upload.

After the successful upload, you will see your uploaded documents. The next step is to submit your childcare place request. To do this, open the "My selection" tab at the top left.

In the "My selection" tab, you will see a list of your requests. Check the child's details and your selected childcare places. Scroll down the list and click on "Request childcare place". Your childcare place request is now complete. You can now check the status of your childcare place request in your parent account at any time.
