Childcare place requests

There are a few things to bear in mind when looking for a suitable childcare facility for your child. There is no central allocation of places in the state capital. Places at municipal daycare centers are allocated by the Youth Welfare Office's daycare service, while places at all other childcare facilities are allocated by the respective provider or the facility itself. These points must also be taken into account:

• There is no guarantee that a particular childcare place will be allocated.
• It is not possible to prioritize facilities.
• Only choose facilities that are really suitable for childcare.
• You can submit childcare place requests to a maximum of 10 daycare centers, of which a maximum of 3 can be municipal daycare centers.
• You will only receive one place offer at a time.
• Once you have accepted an offer of a place for your child, the requests for childcare places at the other facilities become inactive.
• Further childcare place requests can only be made as a change request, stating a reason.

Municipal facilities:

• From October 2024, childcare places at municipal daycare centers will be allocated according to a revised points system that takes into account various circumstances and employment scopes.
• In order to be considered in municipal facilities, you must upload the required documents to your parent account or send them to the Kitaservice.
