State capital Stuttgart

New mobility

Commercial cargo bike use

Whether craft business or delivery service - more companies are turning to e-cargo bikes. This is because commercial use is environmentally friendly and cost-efficient. Cargo bikes reduce emissions, ease congestion and enable fast deliveries in urban areas. And this improves the quality of life in cities.

E-cargo bikes can replace cars for many types of transportation. They therefore contribute to more sustainable and environmentally friendly logistics in cities.

Public action day on September 18

The city of Stuttgart is setting an example for sustainable urban commercial transport and is launching the third round of the successful "flottes Gewerbe" program. This program promotes the use of commercial cargo bikes and offers companies, businesses and service providers the opportunity to test e-cargo bikes free of charge.

On 18 September 2024, a public day of action with a test course will be held where all interested companies will have the opportunity to try out and compare different commercial cargo bikes.  Jörg Otto, the state capital's commercial transport officer, will be happy to answer any questions and provide information on the "flottes Gewerbe" program.

What test pioneers say about "brisk business"

In 2023, numerous entrepreneurs once again took part in the "flottes Gewerbe" program. The pioneers had the unique opportunity to test the commercial use of cargo bikes in Stuttgart's urban traffic. The conclusion of the participants was consistently positive - you can see this for yourself in the video report.

Review 2023: In the video, test pioneers explain why the cargo bike is so useful for commercial use.
