Job turbo

Germany urgently needs skilled workers. A large number of refugees have completed the integration course, have a basic knowledge of German and want to get started on the German labor market. Everyone is now called upon to help people find work quickly and integrate successfully.

Job turbo for the labor market integration of refugees

The state capital of Stuttgart has a long tradition of supporting and integrating refugees. In particular, the events from 2015 onwards, when a large number of refugees also came to Stuttgart, as well as the current developments as a result of the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine, have presented the city with major challenges, which it has tackled with a great sense of responsibility.

One of the main pillars of the social integration of people with a refugee background is undoubtedly integration into training and work. Qualification programs, advisory services, language support, voluntary work and contacting employers have therefore been and continue to be promoted. This supports the professional integration of those who are looking for protection and a new home in the state capital.

Advantages for refugees and companies

In its cooperation with companies, the state capital of Stuttgart and its municipal job center work very closely with the Stuttgart Employment Agency. A productive alliance that benefits not only the people concerned, but also employers in particular:

  • Germany is experiencing a growing shortage of workers and trainees. The employment of refugees looking for work or training helps to fill vacancies and alleviate the shortage of workers and trainees, and the potential is wide-ranging.

  • Refugees often bring with them a wide range of distinctive qualifications and valuable professional experience that can be put to good use in different areas of work. In addition, the exchange of experience and knowledge between employees with and without a refugee background - regardless of the sector - enables mutual learning and understanding.

  • Even low-skilled people can often very quickly perform simpler tasks and take on tasks, which gives companies the opportunity to react flexibly to daily work requirements.

  • Refugees are often highly motivated and grateful for the opportunity to take up work or training in Germany. This motivation is often reflected in a high level of commitment and willingness to undergo training and / or further education.

  • Employing employees with a refugee background has been proven to promote diversity in a company. Diversity brings different perspectives and approaches to solutions, which in turn strengthens the innovative power of the respective company.

  • Working with colleagues who speak several languages is particularly beneficial for companies with an international focus.

  • By hiring refugees, companies can demonstrate social responsibility and thus help to promote integration and social cohesion. This can not only improve the company’s image, but also strengthen employee loyalty and the company’s competitiveness in the long term.
