State Aid to the Blind
Aid to the blind, according to the law on state aid to the blind of Baden-Württemberg, is a monthly financial support for people who are blind due to illness or an accident. This benefit is granted without taking into account the income and assets of the blind person (state aid to the blind).
The blind assistance according to §72 Social Security Code Twelfth Book (SGB XII)
is granted depending on the income and asset limits of social assistance, i.e. upon determination of a need under social assistance law. Provided that the conditions for the receipt of social welfare are fulfilled, blind assistance can be referred after SGB XII also supplemental to the national blind assistance. The state aid to the blind is credited against the entitlement to aid to the blind according to § 72 SGB XII.
The amount of the state aid to the blind or the aid to the blind according to § 72 SGB XII is reduced if benefits of home care or full inpatient care are received.
Proceedings in connection with social benefits are free of charge.
