As a service provider, 940 employees in the Civil Engineering Department shape the basis of life for well over 600,000 people who live and work in Stuttgart. We build and maintain roads and light rail lines, manage traffic and ensure the mobility of people in our city. We construct sewers and clean the wastewater of more than 700,000 people in and around Stuttgart. We use our expertise and commitment to continuously improve the quality of life: we build sidewalks and cycle paths, safe crossings for pedestrians and modern elevators at light rail access points and underpasses. The needs of our mobility-impaired citizens are very important to us.
