A certificate of eligibility for housing is required in order to move into a subsidized (social) apartment; household members are also included in the housing entitlement. The certificate of eligibility for housing must be handed over to the landlord or landlady when moving in. A certificate of eligibility for housing only offers the possibility of concluding a tenancy agreement and does not mean an automatic entitlement to (social) housing.
The Wohnberechtigungsschein is valid for one year from the date of issue.
Together with the certificate of eligibility for housing, you can also apply to be included in the register for people looking for housing in Stuttgart in order to receive housing offers in accordance with the reservation and occupancy guidelines decided by the municipal council.
You can also apply for inclusion in the Vormerkdatei if you have received a valid Wohnberechtigungsschein from an office outside the state capital of Stuttgart.
