Recognition of voluntary work

Without the energetic work of volunteers, many initiatives and projects would be unthinkable. In recognition of this work, the state capital of Stuttgart regularly presents awards to people who have made a special contribution as volunteers and honors civic commitment.

The state capital presents awards to citizens who have made a special voluntary contribution to Stuttgart.

The "Ehrenplakette" and "Ehrenmünze" are awards from the state capital and a special recognition of voluntary work. They highlight the value of civic engagement in Stuttgart and emphasize the tireless efforts of people who make an important contribution to the common good with their voluntary work.

Badge of honor

Badge of Honor of the state capital Stuttgart.

The  City of Stuttgart's badge of honor is awarded every year by the Lord Mayor as part of the citizens' reception. It expresses thanks and recognition for civic commitment in Stuttgart - especially in the areas of social and cultural affairs, education and sport as well as the environment and security. The municipal council decides on the award.

Honorary coin

Coin of honor of the state capital Stuttgart

The  City of Stuttgart's Medal of Honour recognizes people who have shown special commitment to their districts and fellow citizens. Proposals for the award can be submitted by the Lord Mayor, the mayors and the district heads. Applications from the citizenry are submitted to the head of the district in  which the person in question lives or is active. Each district can award up to three medals of honor each year.
