At the Stuttgart Job Center, more than 600 employees help secure the livelihoods of around 41,000 people in Stuttgart. In addition, the job center accompanies job-seeking citizens on their way to a secure, professional future.

As an office of the state capital Stuttgart, the Jobcenter is the point of contact for all those eligible for unemployment benefit II ("Hartz IV"). Since 2012, the Jobcenter has been responsible for implementing basic benefits for jobseekers as an approved municipal agency.

With 16 branch and satellite offices in the community centers and district town halls, the Jobcenter Stuttgart offers an easily accessible range of counseling services close to home in almost all city districts.

The staff of the Stuttgart Job Center branch responsible for you will contact you and send you an invitation for an appointment for an initial interview.

During the initial interview, you will discuss your career history with your personal contact person and develop an individually suitable strategy for your job or training search.

Afterwards and in the follow-up interviews, an "integration agreement" will be reached with you. The agreement describes the further cooperation between you and the job center. It sets out concrete rules and steps to help you improve your life situation. You can be supported on your way into the job market, for example, through individual support and educational services. The integration agreement is regularly adapted to your current circumstances. If you need further support in addition to placement in work, for example with health problems, the job center will also be happy to help you.

You are fit for work if you are able to work at least three hours a day and there are no health problems or disabilities that prevent you from doing so. At least one person in your household must be able to work in order to receive benefits under SGB II (e.g. unemployment benefit II).

In principle, the Jobcenter is happy to support you in all measures that will help you on your way into the job market. If you are interested in further education and training, vocational courses, retraining and the like, you can always contact your personal contact person - there are numerous offers and opportunities.

Have you already found an educational offer or course that you would like to take? The cost absorption and conditions of the individual offers must be checked individually. Please talk to your personal contact person.

As a rule, your personal contact person from the initial interview will also conduct all further interviews with you. If you have any questions or concerns, you can contact this person at any time.

If possible, the job center will support you in taking up a job or training in line with your qualifications and ideas. If this is difficult to do, your personal contact will work with you to find out where your strengths lie and develop an alternative career perspective.

Do you incur costs in your search for an apprenticeship or job that you cannot finance yourself? For example, for application documents or travel to job interviews? The Jobcenter Stuttgart will be happy to support you within reasonable limits. It is important to note that if you need financial support for your training or job search, you must apply for it before you incur any costs.

If you are receiving unemployment benefit II, you are not legally entitled to vacation. In principle, taking up employment or training has priority. However, you can apply to the Jobcenter for leave of absence for up to 21 days per calendar year (including Sundays and public holidays).
